A verdict by the Supreme Court
Through a verdict the Supreme Court has squashed the appointment of Central Vigilance Commissioner. Th incumbent, Mr.P.J.Thomas, was selected to this highest post to function as the watch dog against corruption by a panel consisting of the Prime Minister, Union Home Minister and the Leader of Opposition at the Centre. In the case of Mr. Thomas the respected Supreme court has found that the person had been charge sheeted in a corruption case and hence cannot hold the post of CVC.
