Kerala Chief Minister Vs Kerala Police - Enquiry of Ice Cream Parlour Case
The latest controversy taken place in Kerala state is between the Chief Minister of Kerala , Mr. V. S. Achuthanandan, and the Kerala police. This controversy is related to the enquiry of ICE CREEM PARLOUR CASE. Achuthanandan instructed the head of the enquiry team, Mr. Vincent M. Paul (ADGP), to meet the advocate of Supreme Court, Mr.Suseel Kumar, with all the details and reports of the Ice Cream Parlour Case. But the ADGP and the DGP, Mr. Jacob Punoose, have denied this instruction specifying that the enquiry team do not require any legal advice from any external source and this will be against the code of conduct insisted by Election Commission. Now the latest news came out that the Chief Minister is preparing for action against ADGP and DGP. Some officials say that this type of action will be the violation of code of conduct insisted by Election Commission.According to the opposition, the Chief Minister is using his official powers for political and personal revenge. Personnel of police department are well trained to conduct enquiries. There is procedures also to get legal advice, when they required. The officer, who conduct an enquiry, knows very well that if he require any legal advice. Let them do their duty and complete the enquiry. If the government is not satisfied with the enquiry or the way they conducting the enquiry, the government has the power to hand over the enquiry to any other agency. Why the Chief Minister is interfering in the activities of police?
