A venue for senior citizens

Senior citizens of Edappally (Kochi) and neighbouring places have a common place to meet and spend their evenings in useful manner.Under the Changampuzha Samskarika Kendram a Senior Citizens Forum is functioning for the last six to seven years. There are around 700 members in it, both men and women. A regular meeting on every Tuesday will be held in an open Park (Changampuzha Park) from 6.00 to 7.00 pm. A talk by an invited person on a useful topic will be arranged there. on every first Sunday a free medical check up is arranged for those who need.
On the birth day of every member two representatives of the Forum will visit his/her house and wish the person with a lotus flower, and also invite the person for a reception on the first Sunday of the next month at 5.00 pm at the Park.At the reception again each will be welcomed to the dais with a red rose flower. Two or three persons from the audience will talk wishing a long life to all in the dais. One or two persons from among those who had their birth day in the previous month will say a few words thanking for the reception.

Small tours- on day long- are arranged occasionally. Annual day, Onam, etc. are celebrated with entertainments and small competitions. Almost every day some programme used to be there in the Park, organised under the Samskarika endram or other organizations.
