Kerala faces price hike in food products of hotel and restaurants
Eating out is becoming a burden for city peoples. The sudden price hike of food items in hotels and restaurants is affected daily budget of a common man. The prices of food items are increasing on an average by 10 % in cities. The restaurants and hotels, away from the main part of the city can manage the price of food items consistent rate, they do not have to pay huge amount as rent. But it is not possible to the hotels and restaurants in cities.The hoteliers say that the sudden price hike of vegetables and meets are forced them to increases the charges of food items. Many restaurants have placed boards at their door steps, informing the customers that they were forced to increase the price.
The Kerala High Court on Wednesday has asked the state to consider passing an appropriate legislation to the common man out. The court felt that the establishing a law for regulating price of food items would ensure that customers are not that cheated.
In my opinion the price hike of raw materials including cooking gas, vegetables and meat is the main problem, the hotels and restaurant owners are not responsible for the price hike of food items. The government is partially responsible for this situation, first the government would lowering the price of raw materials, after that establishing a law for regulating the price of food items in hotels and restaurants to ensure the consumers are nor that fleeced.
