How the points increase? Is it something to do with the earnings?

I am an active member of this site from yesterday (25th May) onwards. Still my point is only 1 although i have participated in many events.
Is this a problem with my account or is it initially like this?
And one more thing; I didn't get my adsense account yet although i have applied for it.
Please answer me. I am a new member
