A Day in Thusharagiri

Thusharagiri is situated Calicut district of Kerala.This place is about 55km away from Calicut town. The nearest town is Kodencherry which is 11 km from here. The other towns are Thiruvambady which is about 18 km away and Thamarassery which is 17 km away from here. This is an enchanting tourist destination in Malabar region of Kerala.
The word 'Thusharagiri' refers to the snow capped mountain. The waterfalls in the middle of the forest gives a spellbinding sight to the tourists. The river flowing through this hill is Chalippuzha which originates from Western Ghats. The tourists can see three waterfalls which is diverged from this river. Thenpara waterfall is the highest waterfall which is at an altitude of about 75meters.
The main season time is from September to November when the tourist can enjoy the roar of the waterfall. The snowy spray of the waterfall is soothe to every eye of the visitors at this place which gives this place this name.
This tourist spot is suitable for those who loves adventure. The challenging trekking and rock climbing through the river path makes this destination ever memorable to the visitors. The state forest department is running a crocodile farm at this place.We can swim in the river and waterfalls passing through the forest.
