Do we need a selection between these two 'stars'. They are both good actors in their own capacities. Both have their own approach, a comparison of these will be difficult.
The roles each get in the screen suit them, perhaps the directors make their selection looking at the roles they have in their mind.

It is true that comparing these two super stars is a difficult task but everyone will be a fan of one among them. My favorite is mohanlal because he is a versatile actor and can do any type of roles put forward to him. Let it be romance, serious, comedy, and all. He gives his maximum while shooting. Newly released film "Dhrishyam" has created history in box office. It is true that mammootty has achieved lots of awards but mohanlal has won millions of people's heart. Definitely a true legend.
