    'Young Entrepreneur Summit 2014 Kerala: Has it enabled us to think big?' is the topic for group discussion. The Young Entrepreneurs Summit (YES) flagship event to make Kerala as a vibrant Entrepreneurial state concluded at the Adlux International Convention Centre, Kochi on 12th September 2014. Aimed at fostering the augmentation of entrepreneurship in young minds and to create viable environment for startups, YES made a great start with the number of participation and innovative ideas.

    Entrepreneurship is the process of owning or starting a company, business or an organisation and the sole responsibility of its success or failure vests on the individual who starts it. One has to have a employer concept rather than an employee concept to be an entrepreneur. Kerala produces lot of employers and due to brain-drain looses a huge chunk of them. Young Entrepreneur Summit 2014 Kerala is one among the many novel efforts by the Government of Kerala to encourage entrepreneurship within the minds of youths in Kerala. Startup Village is also an initiative to support entrepreneurship in Kerala by monetarily supporting and funding good ideas.

    Young Entrepreneur Summit 2014 Kerala, YES, is different from the other existing efforts to encourage Entrepreneurship , as it is an International summit under Mission 676, a flagship event to establish Kerala as a vibrant Entrepreneurial State. YES is a combined initiatives of agencies like KSIDC, KFC, TBI, Technopark, Infopark, and KINFRA working jointly for the betterment of the Entrepreneurialism of the State. The best idea during the summit will be rewarded.

    YES is a novel approach to the growing criticism against the government that how will it compensate the loss due to closing up of all the bars. Its true, we dont need bars to run the State, its better to invest on development of Entrepreneurship. And in this direction YES is a pinnacle decision. YES will bring about dedicated incubators for sectors like Life, Medical Science Fashion, electronics etc. Implementation of boot camps and junior boot camps for both college and school going students. Providing technology tools and innovation zones and many more of such novel acts are the guiding points in the upliftment of the state to a Entrepreneurial State.

    As we get more and more Entrepreneurs we are bound to create more job opportunities and this could make Kerala self sufficient in being a job provider and in turn increase the revenue of the Government.

    'Young Entrepreneurship summit' organized by Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation and Industries Department will definitely a motivation to the students and youth to enter in to the domain of enterprises, which will make Kerala as a strong entrepreneurial state in the country. Now training and development programmes are available in various places in order to promote Young Entrepreneurship and to build young entrepreneurs. YES will certainly a great dais for the youth to put forward their views and ideas about the entrepreneurial scheme and also to attain their dreams in business.
    YES will make tremendous changes in the field of enterprises and it will refine Kerala as a state of entrepreneurs. This scheme can raise the job opportunities in the state which will gradually reduce the problem of poverty and unemployment in the state. More over it will expand the field of enterprises such as agriculture, IT, tourism, hospitality etc and will refine it with advanced technologies. Definetly 'Young Entrepreneurship summit 2014 Kerala' will enable us to think big and will make Kerala as a vibrant Entrepreneurial state.

    Young Entrepreneurs Summit 2014 (YES) is indeed an outstanding move taken by Kerala government and will definitely change the phase of Kerala. It aims in building up the hidden entrepreneur in the upcoming generation of Kerala. Students or the young sprouts are given a completely stress free platform to share their thoughts and ideas. The ultimate aim of YES is to nurture a vibrant entrepreneur in the minds of our youth and thereby become a 'job maker' not a 'job seeker'.

    It is really shame that all our people fly abroad for those white collar jobs when we have such a vast population and endless resources in our territory. Take the case of China, their mindset is to build a great entrepreneur deep inside and invest their whole amount for their new creative and technical ideas. The key behind their success is "self confidence" and they doesn't seek for jobs rather becomes an employer. People in Kerala have no guts to invest on. The one thing which we all should keep in mind is that no one have reached the pinnacle of success without taking risks. Failures may occur but we can bounce back on our next attempt.

    Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) and Industries Department have given a great hand with Kerala Government to make this worth practical. Also KSIDC, Kerala Financial Corporation (KFC), TBI, Technopark, Infopark, and KINFRA are the top agencies which will strive hard to create a holistic approach among the young entrepreneurs.


    YES is a program taken under "Mission 676" of Government of Kerala. September 12th is to be celebrated as "Kerala Entrepreneurship Day" initiated by KSIDC to kick up the program successfully. YES is to pour some awareness in minds of our youths on how they can change the phase of their life simply by adopting entrepreneurship and also guides them the possibilities of investing successfully in this God's own country". So i sincerely hope that this policy could enormously influence the coming generation and hope Kerala will soon become an entrepreneurial state.

    But there are some disadvantages in implementing this Young Entrepreneurs Summit 2014 (YES) in Kerala. The major one is that to become an entrepreneur it involves high amount of risk and without great guidance and experience there is great chance of ending up being a flop move. This can thereby influence our career and will put an end to our growing future.

    Also as we are holding the full authority of a firm there may arise a heap of threatening issues in their career which has to be faced without fear. While for payed jobs fear of such risks are insane.
