    35th National Games 2014 Kerala: Can Kerala really benefit from this Sport event?

    'National Games 2014 Kerala: Can Kerala really benefit from this Sport event?' is the topic for group discussion. The National games to be held from 31st January to 14th February 2015 will be a spectacular event to be attended by 11,641 participants, including 7,744 athletes. There is no doubt that, this National sports competition would help the state to show its pomp and diversity along with building the best infrastructure and facilities up to the international standard. The state is hosting the event after a gap of 27 years.

    Kerala, is brushing itself up for the 35 National Games that is to be conducted next year. Theses Games are scheduled to commence from January 31 to February 14, 2015. Theses games are to be conducted at different venues around the state. This is a great responsibility vested to Kerala and, if conducted properly it could elevate the status of the state as whole.

    One main advantage for conducting the 35th National games in our state Kerala is that, it is giving us a new horizon to proliferate the condition of our stadiums and grounds. As the Games are scheduled to be conducted on Kerala it is must that we elevate the standard of the grounds and stadiums atleast those which are to be kept as the venue. For this and to take and overall review of the scenario a A Specially Empowered High Power committee (SEHPC) has been devised. This will act as a deciding body in urgent matters that has to be taken care of. A co ordination committee is formed for implementation of the decisions of the SEHPC.

    Uet another advantage for Kerala for conducting the games is that it will be an added benefit to our players who ate taking part on the games. As we all know a player has an added advantage while playing in his home ground so this will be a boost to players from Kerala.

    There are many challenges that Kerala has to face for conducting theses event. Almost all the stadiums in our state requires a serious maintenance for such a game to occur. We must also see that that the equipments should be new and according to the standards. Condition of our roads are pathetic, if a game of such magnitude has to be conducted then transportation is a must. So the condition of roads should be elevated. In every games we find some negatives or allegations saying that it was partially towards a particular group or cheating was done and all. So it's a challenge to see that such doings do not take place.
