What is meant by 'big temple'? Do you attribute to its size, or the popularity ?
There are several temples which are very huge in size, but these temples are not visited by many devotees. At the same time there are some temples which are comparatively small in size but visited by thousands of devotees from all places. A true example is Sabarimala. As a temple it is less than medium size, but what about the number of visitors.
Guruvayoor is only a medium sized temple. here also the number of devotees visiting is numerous.

The above list gives only a very few names. Thousands of them are, even very large in size.
In Malabar area, for example, Thirunavaya temple, Thirumandhamkunnu temple, Cheroulassery temple, Alathur Hanuman temple, Thali temple, etc. attract thousands of devotees.
Thrissur district is another area where several temples are located. Arattupuzha, Cherpu, Oorakam, etc. are examples.
A details of temples and related history have been compiled and district-wise volumes published by Kerala government.

Gangadharan thanks for raising this post and glad to see best responses from Sankaran and Renjith. I came to know many big temples that are existing in Kerala for the first time. These kinds of information must be always shared so that we can get updated. I hope more members will join this post and give best reply.
