Director Shafi who is well known for his comedy flicks such as Kallyanaraman, Pulivalkallyanam, Mayavi, Thommanum Makkalum is ready to tickle the funny bones of film goers with another comedy flick entitled 101 Weddings. 101 Weddings will hit theatres on 23 November 2012. Shafi had already made two films on the backdrop of marriage such as Kalyanaraman and Pulivaal Kalyanam which were huge success at the box office.
101 Weddings movie narrates the eventful days that precedes a mass marriage. The story of the movie develops through the lives of different people participating in it. The committee organizes a pre-marital session of 15 days for the applicants. Interesting events hapens during this period. 101 Weddings movie depicts those eventful moments and end with the wedding. The director had given a comic treatment to the film which is filled with romance, comedy, dramatic moments, action, emotion and happiness.
Kunchako Boban, Biju Menon and Jayasurya will play the lead roles while Samvritha Sunil, Bhama and Roopa Manjari will don female characteristics. Suraj Venjarammood ,Salim Kumar, Vijeesh Vijayan and Vijayaraghavan will enact the supporting roles. The rest of the cast include Ponnamma Babu, Saju Kodiyan, Mukundanunni, Subi Suresh, Vinod Kedamanmgalam, Shaju Cheriyan, Sindra, Urmila Unni and Manju Jaison. Kunchako Boban who play the role of Krishnakumar is the son of a idealistic Gandhiyan named Munshi Sankara Pillai. Krishnakumar is entirely different from his father and calls himself as Krish.
Jayasurya enacts the role a dance teacher named Natanakalaratnam Jyothish Kumar while his mannerisms make him a bit womanish. Biju Menon plays the role of a local goon named Antappan who comes for the wedding with his companions. These three meets at the wedding spot and the rest of the story follows what would happen in their life.
The script of 101 Wedding is written by Kalavoor Ravikumar for the story of Shafi. 101 wedding is produced by Rafi,Shafi, Shaleel and Bava Hasainar under the banner of Film Folks. The music of the movie is composed by Deepak Dev.
The chemistry between Kunchako Boban- Biju Menon duo is the vital factor of the success of earlier hits such as Ordinary and Mallu Singh. Jayasura's bit effeminate character also will be a special experience for the spectators.
