Thulasi Nair the confident young actress was born on 25th October 1997, to Rajasekharan Nair, a hotelier and former South Indian actress Radha. She has two siblings – Vignesh Nair and Karthika Nair. Karthika Nair is also a South Indian actress. Thulasi is the niece of the renowned Malayalam actress Ambika. She was raised in Mumbai, hence is not very fluent in her mother tongue. Thulasi Nair started up her career in acting through the romantic Tamil movie "Kadal", directed by Mani Ratnam. This movie, released in the year 2013, features Gautam Kartik, son of actor Kartik and Thulasi Nair in the lead roles. She is lucky enough to get a lead role at such a young age of 16 years. But she had apparently proved that age is not a criteria for acting. Once in an interview she had said that facing the camera for the first time did not make her nervous at all as it was just an object according to her.
She also added that Mani Ratnam considered her as a daughter and had helped a lot to bring out the character within herself and as acting was already present in her genes, it was of no difficult to her. The movie "Kadal" was dubbed into Telugu and the name of the movie was changed to "Kadali". Her second movie was also a Tamil movie by the name "Yaan", directional debut of the cinematographer Ravi K. Chandran. In this movie also Thulasi got a lead role opposing Jiiva.
As her elder sister Karthika Nair is already in the acting industry, obviously a question will pop up in the mind of the readers and viewers. That is whether there will be competitions and comparisons between the two sisters. For this Thulasi Nair has replied that her love for her sister will never be taken over by competition.
