Personal Life
Shilpa Bala is a Malayalam actress hailing from Kanjangad of Kasargode district. Born to Induleka and Balagopal, a Bank employee, Shilpa was raised in Dubai and she did her schooling in the Indian High School, Dubai. Her mother is a trained classical dancer who works at a private firm in Dubai. She has a sister by the name Shweta.
Shilpa has learned classical dance and has participated in various dance programs in school level and at outside functions. She started learning dance at the age of four and is a student of Master Sasi Kottakkal. She won the "Kalathilakam Pattam" at the Arabia Youth Festival in the year 2005. Shilpa has received lot of appreciations and awards for her amazing dancing performances. She has also learned classical music and is a good singer too. Shilpa Bala, the cute little twinkling star stepped into the film industry in the year 2009 through the movie "Orkkukka Vallapozhum", the directorial debut venture of Sohanlal. She was the heroine in this movie and had to play double role. The veteran actor Tilakan played the male lead role. Shilpa has said in a interview that it was a real challenge to act in this movie that too with a most senior artist of the Malayalam film industry. The director Sohanlal has commented that Shilpa is 100% committed and dedicated.
Shilpa has done another Malayalam movie in the year 2009. It is "Chemistry", directed by Viji Thampi. The movie says the story of a high school student. Shilpa appears as Gouri and has an important role to play in this movie. She is a dead girl who later becomes ghost. In 2010, Shilpa acted in another Malayalam movie "Aagathan" staring Dileep, Innocent, Biju Menon, Charmee Kaur, Shilpa, Lal and so on. Even though Shilpa did not get the lead role, her character 'Deepthi' was quite strong enough to create an impact. The film was an average movie at box office.
