Haritha V Kumar, the 26 years old and a trained engineer is presently undergoing training as Probationer in Indian Revenue Service at the National Academy of Customs Excise and Narcotics NACEN Faridabad. She is a daughter of R. Vijayakumar, a businessman and Chithra Vijayakumar, a housewife. She has two younger brothers who are twins. One of them is preparing to write the civil services examination. She resides at Thycuad, Thiruvananthapuram.
Haritha V Kumar has done her schooling at St.Theresa's Convent School in Neyyattinkara and has done Engineering in Electronics and Communications program at the Government Engineering College situated in Barton Hill. Her hobbies include the ardent love towards carnatic music, listening to old Malayalam movie songs and reading Malayalam literature.
Haritha V Kumar has chosen Malayalam literature and Economics as optional subjects in civils. Talking about the optional selection of Malayalam literature she told that the much needed quality of a civil servant is the empathy, induced by literature's portrayal of realities of life. She believes in unwavering dedication, hard and systematic hard-work which made her get success in civil services exam. During the training for the IRS itself she participated discussion and debates with fellow officers regularly and developed the confidence, hence topped the civil services 2012.
