Pookal Paranjath malayalam movie directed by K A Nandajan is a welcome step towards people's cinema. The 2 hour long movie made with a budget of Rs 4 Lakhs is being produced by Mathur panchayat in Palakkad. Sunitha Nedungadi, Murali Mangili, Sivadasan, Sandhya Krishna and Sraddha would give life to other prominent characters. Published as a book by the students of Mathur panchayat, it got shaped into a short film; later to a feature film funded by students in the government and aided schools.

Pookal Paranjath (What The Flowers Said) might not find its place in the International film reference library, but would be praised for its daring attempt to deliver a movie which can be rightly called as 'people's cinema'. Directed by K A Nandajan, this 2 hour long movie made with a budget of Rs 4 Lakhs is being produced by Mathur panchayat in Palakkad.

Sunitha Nedungadi, Murali Mangili, Sivadasan, Sandhya Krishna and Sraddha would give life to other prominent characters in the movie. Published as a book by the students of Mathur panchayat, it got shaped into a short film; later to a feature film funded by students in the government and aided schools in the panchayat. Dev Anp cranked the camera.

With three stories in total, each of them studded with different concept meets with a tragic end. With an objective to attract children, the movie travels through the present age culture of them. The treatment of the movie is totally different as it revolves around negative thoughts instilled in the minds of children by parents and also the changing attitudes of children towards their parents is visualized in a lively manner.

As said above, 'Pookal Paranja Katha' is composition of 3 stories titled 'Nandan', 'Thumbi' and 'Sandra' penned by Jayakanthan, Anaswara and Sasikumar Kottayi respectively. The segments 'Nandan' and 'Sandra' about the role of mother in astraying child's high expectations, Thumbi draws a situation in which the dignity of father being a labour is questioned.

'Nandan' is a family subject which makes the viewers to think much. The mother realizes lately her mistake for asking her child to imbibe Vishwanathan's curiosity in making money, was not a clever decision. Vishwanathan, who was infatuated with making money, fails to look after his mother.

'Sandra' is all about the story of a mother who fails to understand her daughter's passion for Nature while Kesavan, a toddy tapper in the segment 'Thumbi', get distraught when his daughter introduces him as a servant to her friends. The exceptional performances made by Sunitha Nedungadi (Radha) in 'Nandan'), Murali Mangili (Viswanathan) in 'Nandan', Sivadasan(Kesavan) in 'Thumbi'), Sandhya Krishna and Sraddha (Smitha and Sandra) in 'Sandra' are to be highly praised.

Shot in January 2013, the movie is expected to reach theatres very soon.
