Higher Secondary centralized Allotment Process (hsCap) which is popularly known as Single Window Admission is an innovative step introduced by the education department to bring optimal transparency and efficiency in the admission procedure. This system which had been functioning from 2008 had already won two national awards and one state award for its consummate performance.

As the education department has published the Kerala SSLC 2014 results, now it the responsibility of the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education, Government of Kerala to invite applications for Plus one admission through Single Window System for the year 2004- 15. The forms and prospectus will be distributed through the Government / Aided Higher Secondary Schools in the state. According to the procedure, those who wish to apply for higher secondary education should submit single application to the Principal of any Government / Aided higher secondary schools in a District.

One can apply for any number of options in subject combinations along with the schools they wish to study. As there is restriction, the student can apply for more than one district. As the selection is made through District wise Single Window System, single application is sufficient for considering copious options of schools and subject combinations within the District.

After the last date of receipt of duly completed applications, there will be a trail allotment followed by first seat allotment and later final allotments. After the end of the allotments of seats, the Plus one class will commence on the last week of June or the first week of July 2014.

Those who have qualified SSLC (with minimum D+ grade) or equivalent examination are only eligible to apply for higher secondary education. After the submission of applications, the school admission monitoring cell will register the details of the applicants and will forward it the District level admission monitory cell which is being arranged at the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education.

The application details will be uploaded in the web portal www.hscap.kerala.gov.in while the applicants should verify whether the give details are accurate or not. If finding any mistake, it can be corrected. If those who wish to get admission to Aided School Plus One Management / Community seats, separate application should be submitted. The selection is purely based on Weighted Grade Point Average along with the details given in the prospectus.
