An objective type test (OMR Valuation) based on the qualification prescribed for the post will be conducted to fill the posts for arising vacancies. The exam syllabus consists of 3 parts: Part I General Knowledge Part II General Science and Part III Simple Arithmetic. Part One deals with general facts related to Kerala state. More emphasis is given to historical and economical importance of the state. Social and Industrial development along with achievements made in the fields of Literature, Science, Cultural and Sports forms the root of the syllabus.

The number of applicants for the Last Grade Servant exam conducted in 2012 to fill vacancies for various government owned companies/corporations/boards was 8,12,736. So this year too, the number of applicants would not be less than the previous year. As the qualification asked for the job was the ability to read and write Malayalam. After the valuation, a common ranked list will be prepared for the various posts through a notification.
