He is one of the most proficient professional in his field, with an experience of over nine years and still counting. He kick started his career in music field by a background score in a Malayalam movie notebook, directed by Rosshan Andrews, and from here on there was no looking back. He has done more than five thousand advertisement jingles, programmed music and composed music for about fifty films. Gopi Sunder, born in Kochi, Kerala from a family having deep roots in music. His family was related to Mechery Louis Ouseppachan, mononymously known as Ousepachhan, who is a famous composer. So this gave an easy entrance of Gopi Sunder, into the realms of music and composing. Gopi Sunder was not a very bright lad during his schooling days but as it is said that not all have same talents and potential. Its after his tenth that his parents decided to unlock the music beast lurking inside him by allowing him to pursue his dreams. Gopi is married to Priya and they have two sons named Madhav and Yaadav.
During his time with Ousepachhan, he had done few hit movies in which he did the keyboard programming, some of the hits were popular songs like Aankhon Mein Teri in the film Om Shanti Om and Ek Main Aur Ek Tu Hai in the film Bluffmaster. The major break through in his career came when he was approached by Roshan Andrews, for the film Notebook, in which he was offered to do background score. This film was a golden feather to his career. After this he became one of the most sort after composers in his field. Followed by Roshan Andrews Notebook, he went on to compose for the super hit movie Big B which was starred by Mammootty.
Not only malayalam movies but hindi movies were also offered to Gopi Sunder. In 2007 he was given an offer to do background score in the movie Dhol. Next he ventured to do background score for the film Flash directed by well renowned director Sibi Malayil. Sagar Alias Jacky Reloaded was the next big budget movie did by Gopi Sunder in the year 2009. The film that gave a new definition to career of Gopi Sundee was Amal Neerad's Anwar. The song that he composed for the film topped the charts for a long time. For his works in the film Anwar Gopi had received Filmfare Award for Best Music Director in the year 2010
There are many more movies which were a grand success, they include, My Boss directed by Jeethu Joseph, Nee Ko Njaa Cha directed by Gireesh in the year 2013. Some of his recent endeavours include Sound Thoma, Mumbai Police, ABCD, D Company and countless more. He has also some upcoming projects like Lailaa O Lailaa directed by Joshiy and starred by Mohanlal, in the film Gopi will be doing the composing part which is also expected to be a grant success. In the year 2013 he won many awards for his work in the film Ustad Hotel which include Asinet Film Awards for Best Music Director, Pearl Awards for Best Background Score. The film was also nominated for - SIIMA Award for Best Music Director and Filmfare Award for Best Music Director.
