Temple and adjoining lake extends over an acre in length. This lake will not dry even in high temperature. Popular festival conducted here is the pooram festival of Madayi kavu. This festival had attracted hundreds of devotees from all over the world. Presence of insect eating plant species is a main attraction here.

Apart from insect eating plant species, you can also find here different varieties of grass and more than three hundred types of flowering plants. This place is considered to be as the home to rare medicinal herbs, butterflies and birds. You can find here about 150 species of birds and 100 species of butterflies. For example, Atlas butterfly, one among the biggest butterflies in the world is a visitor here.
