Dam started power generation on October 4 1975. This parabolic thin arc dam in Idukki had attracted hundreds of tourists from different parts of the world. Studies say that this dam was built in conjunction with the construction of Kulamavu and Cheruthoni dams. You can also find here an artificial lake created by the adjoining of three dams. 
Moolamattom power station
