New Cattle Feed factory in Kerala
This is a 35 crore worth project which was initiated by Kerala Feeds Limited (KFL), because KFL, owned by Kerala is responsible for bringing this project and in a span of 6 months time you can see a new Cattle Feed factory at Karunagapally in Kollam district. Animal Husbandry Minister C. Divakaran has promised that this project will be finished in 6 months and this will be a great source of revenue for the Government. The foundation for this project was laid on 17th January 2010, with an inaugural function featuring Animal Husbandry Minister C. Divakaran, as he laid the foundation stone in the area. He stated that " It would be a state-of-the-art factory with imported machinery, which is capable of producing 300 metric tonnes of cattle feed daily,"
Kerala already have a Cattle Feed factory in Trissur with a capacity of 650 tonnes production every day. But the minister ensured that another cattle field factory for his own constituency and this motivated him to set up his new plant very quickly and it would be commissioned in 6 months time, as mentioned earlier. M. Suresh Kumar, the managing director of KFL, have stated" The present unit of ours operates at 95 percent capacity daily and since there is a huge demand for our product, we are certain that our new unit will have a similar workload. Around 200 new jobs will be created in the new unit"
So this unit will start its operation after 6 months and let us hope the production in this unit is good as the Trissur unit.
