Calicut University Departments

University of Calicut was established in the year 1968 through an Ordinance (No.5/68) of the Government of Kerala, which was subsequently replaced by the Calicut University Act,1975.

The main campus of the University, with its headquarters, is located at Tenhipalam (Malappuram District), 23 km south of Kozhikode city. The University has two major extension centres, one at Thrissur and the other at Vatakara. University has several Post Graduate Departments offering Post graduate, M. Phil. and doctoral programmes in the concerned subjects. The details are given below.

Under this University, there are 270 affiliated Colleges, which include Arts and Science Colleges, Engineering/MBA/MCA colleges, Medical Colleges, Ayurveda colleges, Homoeopathic colleges, Nursing Colleges, Dental Colleges, Pharmacy Colleges, Training Colleges, Law Colleges, Arabic/ Oriental Title Colleges, etc. These colleges are either Government owned or Private Management (which include Self financing colleges also).
