Here is the Beginner Style Chicken Masala of Kerala Way, tasty when cooked and served hot with coin Poratta :)

Ingredients:

1 KG chicken
Keep it washed , and cut in to medium Size :)

To Grind:

10 dry red chilies
2 Medium Sized piece of ginger
5 cloves garlic


1 medium red onion diced
1 tsp mustard seeds
2 tomatoes chopped
4 cloves
2 cardamom pods
1 Medium cinnamon stick
curry leaves
salt As Required
2 TBS oil



Cooking Method :

Grind the ingredients to a fine paste with a little water.

Heat 1 TBS oil in a pan and fry the onions till golden brown, and remove.

Heat 1 TBS oil in the same pan, add the cardamom, cinnamon and cloves and stir for a minute.

Add the ground paste to this and saute till oil starts separating.

Add the chopped tomatoes and stir till the tomato pieces are cooked.

Add cut chicken pieces along with the salt to the pan, mix well, so that the pieces are coated with the masala.
Fry well till the chicken pieces starts to brown.

Add the fried onions and curry leaves to the pan and stir for another minute.

Add 2 cups of hot water to the pan, mix well and cook covered on medium heat till the chicken pieces are cooked through.

Now it's Ready to eat with Rice / Poratta :)
