Akshaya it mission

Akshaya ia an IT mission started by the Government of Kerala to inmprove or increase the computer literacy among the people of Kerala.The initiative was launched in November 2002 to highlight the importanc for e-literacy.It was first implemented in Malappuram in 2004.

The project was started with a computer game inorder to familiarise the users with mouse and monitor. In the earlier stages itself the mission was successful for the users for getting good mouse control and keyboard control. When they are also exposed to the world of internet, it seems to be very interesting for them.

The mission was a great success all over Kerala especially in Malappuram district. The project had given a basic idea to operate and work with the computer and explore their world of possibilities through internet etc.

Nowadays Akshaya is also ready to offer services, including agricultural information by providing a platform to connect kerala farmers with public research institution to share technical information and knowledge.
