The Origin Of Kerala IPL Team
Before the 2010 IPL season, there were only 8 teams in the mega event IPL. But in order to increase the profit and also to provide some helps to other states in India, the IPL body introduced the two more IPL teams. The two new IPL teams was also choosen by the same auction process,conducted in Chennai. Although the Malayalam superstar and his friend Priyadarshan had tried for Kerala IPL team, the great demands of Lalit Modi didn't give them a chance at all. All the Keralites thought that their team won't be in the IPL. But, like a dream come true, Kerala also got a IPL Team in the name of Vivek Venugopal and Shailenra Geykvad. The owner of the Kerala IPL Team is Rendezvous Sports. They won the bid for Rs. 1533 Crore. The other team came out in the bid along with Kerala is Pune IPL team. But the cost is too higher as compared to the other eight teams in the previous IPL season.Home Ground of Kerala IPL team.
Previously it was decided that all the matches of Kerala IPL team will be conducted in other states. But the good works of Kerala Cricket Association and the Randezvous Sports gave the state a good ground too. From next year onwards all the home matches of Kerala IPL team would be conducted in the Kaloor stadium, also known as Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. There are plans for introducing more stadiums in other important towns of Kerala like Kochi and Ernakulam. This will be done after the first season of Kerala IPL Team. The BCCI Technical committee had visited the ground. According to them the ground is in good condition to support all the nine home matches of the team and they would be sending the details report soon to BCCI.The Future Plans and Members of Kerala IPL Team
The Randezous Sports want the support from all the parts of Kerala. They hope the help from Priyadarshan and Mohanlal, who were in the front during the IPL bid. The owners is getting a good support from the Kerala Cricket Association. It is heard that the team will give more opportunities to the younger domestic players of Kerala state. The chances of Mohanlal and Asin becoming the ambassadors of the team are also higher.
The recent happenings in the Kerala politics also give a green flag to the IPL team and matches. Thank god that our politicians understood something about the importance of a mega event like IPL. Last week, the Chief Minister of Kerala, V.S Achuthananathan asked the Randezous Sports to send the detailed reports demanding their needs in organizing IPL matches in Kerala.
Also the owners is going for intake of excellent Cricket panel for the team. They are looking forward for the assistance of Sunil Gavaskar, Brain Lara, Steve Waugh, Muhammed Azharudeen etc. And the state also has a very good line up of domestic players. Hope that all these will make Kerala to taste the next years IPL cup.
