Dates Pickle: Kerala Style Recipe


Dates Pickle are the one we remember still, with that tenderness and a mix of sweet and chilly effects, this is a favourite of our Adulthood time.

Dates Pickle:

Preparation Time: 6 - 8 Hours
Serves : Depend upon the use.

Ingrediants for Dates Pickle:

Dates - 600 Gm
Green chilli - 8 - 10
Ginger - one small piece. finely chopped
Asafoetida - A pinch.
Tender coconut water - 1 cup
Chillipowder - a pinch
Pickle powder (Pickle mix) - 4 Teaspoon
sesame oil - 6 tablespoon
Salt to taste

Dates pickle Preparation Method:

Soak dates in tender coconut water for 5 - 6 hours,keep it Aside once it's done add asafoetida,salt and mix it very well.
Now Soften the dates with hand by pressing it.

Chop the Chilly and ginger finely.

Deep fry the chillipowder and chopped ginger in oil, then add the chilli powder and pickle powder and mix it all together.
Finally Add that add the above mixture to dates mixture.

Done, keep it in a Air tight Container for your regualr use.

Dates Pickle goes very well with rice,and palankanzi :D
