List of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in Kerala
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are run by central Government under the ministry of Human Resource Development. Education is provided at free of cost including lodging, stationary and books to all students admitted through the entrance test.
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are started all over India (except in Tamil Nadu) in accordance with the National Policy of Education (1986). The Scheme envisages establishment of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, one in each district of the country. All these Vidyalayas are completely residential schools financed by the Government of India and undertaken by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. Free education is given to all the students getting admissions in these schools which includes their lodging, food, uniforms, textbooks and stationary. But a fee of Rs 200 per month is to be given after reaching class IX and it continues still Class XII. This fees is not applicable to children belonging to SC/ST, Girls and those whose family belong to the Below Poverty Line class.About Navodaya Vidyalaya

Admission to Jawahar Navodaya vidyalaya is done to class VI through a National Level competitive Examination (Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test, JNVST) conducted by the NVS under the control of Central Board of Education. The test consists of mental ability test, mathematics and language skills.The question papers are prepared taking consideration for the students of rural areas. A total of 80 bright students are selected from each district. Students are also admitted to class IX to the vacant seats available in each vidyalaya. This system was started during 2003-04 academic year to fill the vacant seats, so more people get the same opportunity.Eligibility
1)The candidate should be in V class at the time of exam and the school should be recognized by the government or by a equivalent body.
2)Age should be between 9 and 13
3)Candidate should have completed his class III, IV and V in a Government recognized school in a rural area, if he wish to apply for a rural quota.
4)Candidate can give the exam only onceFees
Till Class XI, the entire education including lodging, food, uniform and stationeries are provided at free of cost. But a fee of Rs 200 per month is collected from the students from class IX to class XII.This fees is utilized of the development of the school services. Students belonging to SC/ST, girls and students' whose family comes under BPL are exempted from this nominal fee.Reservation
Out of the total 80 seats, 75% of seats are reserved for the students from rural area and a minimum of 33% of seats are reserved for girls. 15% seats and 7% seats are reserved for SCs/STs students respectively.Academics
High quality education is given in all the vidyalayas by well qualified teachers. The academic results of JNVs in the AISSE and AISSCE exams conducted by CBSE and placement records of students after passing out from the Vidyalayas are good examples that the establishment of the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalays is one of the successful project of the Indian governmentGames and Sports
Navodaya vidyalayas are not only providing high class education, but also encourages Games and Sports to develop physical fitness sportsmanship in the students. Cluster level, Regional level and national level sports are conducted every year and winners in National level are given chance to represent NVS in All India School National sports conducted by School Games Federation of India.Migration Program
To understand National culture and diversity of the country and to build national integration, a migration scheme is followed in all vidyalaya.
