SNC Lavalin case, Kerala's biggest financial scam. In 1995 Congress led GOVT signed agreement with SNC Lavalin a Canadian Based Power construction Company, fort the re4palcement of obsolete generators in Three Hydroelectric project at Pallivasal,Sengulam and Panniya. The agreement of 98 Crore, but Congress led Govt could not Complete the Project and CPI(M)led LDF Govt came in to, P. vijayan Was the Electricity Minister of EK Nayanar Led Govt. LDF Govt signed a new agreement of 145 Crore with SNC Lavalin to supply the equipment from Manufacturers.

The deal brought wide spread protest, party ordered for expert panel Enquiry led by Late Comrade Balanandan. Balanandan panel suggested that the Lavalins cost were excessive and requested for alternative. But the govt ignored the finding of Balanandan Committee. Then Rest is known, the turmoil that created in Kerala Politics

Recent Development
It gets the feeling that Lavalin Scam is surfacing again with 6 months left for the Assembly election in Kerala. C.K Chanarappan The Newly appointed CPI secretary Criticised CPI (M) for not taking Necessary action Against the People involved, he said that "the people facing allegation in SNC Lavlin case must be ready to face Legal process". His statement seems to have opened fresh chapter of CPI, CPM spat. Pinaryi Vijayan Responded to CK Chandrappan's statement saying that he was inexperienced to comment on the local issues
Pinarayi viajayan also Commented on CK Chandrappan's statement on Left parties decision to be not a part of First UPA Govt, He said that "his party does not agree with the views at all. If left parties had joined the UPA, they would have been partners of all policies of UPA in the interest of Corporate.

Since the Elections are around the corner, yet another Controversy will only make the LDF weaker, everyone is taking advantage of this situation. Opposition Leader Oomenchandy, MP Veerendra kumar and Vayalar Ravi came out in support of CK Chanrappan. LDF has suffered a huge defeat in panchayath election 2010, even though it took Party secretary to admit that.
From the time of Parliament Election it s been all controversies for Left Govt, like madani, Bhutan Lottery etc... Yet another controversy like this will surely make the chance of Left more Weaker. Only relief is that Congress won't attack CMP like in the time of Parliament Election, because they too got bucket full of Scams, 2G, Adarsh Flat etc...It is high time for the left to unite and face election, because they are going through real crisis like never before

Personally feel Mr Pinarayi Vijayan is a scape goat. When he did something he got caught. He is 100 times better tha VS who does nothing

I dint under stand the what you mean by Scape Goat, what ever it may be. SNC Lavalin case is still in the court, the only man convicted for Lavalin case is K.Balakrishnapillai Kerala Congress(B)

You are possibly ignorant about Comrade V.S Achuthandan, otherwise you would have made such a comment. V.S is the only political existing now who is corrupt free,

even the opposition wot say that V.S is corrupt, that's why they were targeting his son.
