Sharada

Sharada, the famous and wellknown Malaylam actress is originally from Andhra Pradesh. She was born - Saraswati Devi - in Tenali in Guntur Dist. of Andhra Pradesh in June 12, 1945. Her father is one Venkateswar Rao and mother Satyavathi Devi bother are belonging from family of agriculturalists. She has a brother, named Mohan Rao. In her childood Sharada was sent to Madras to live with her grandmother Kanakamma, a strict and an atmost disciplinarian, who in the later days wouldn't even let the heroes touch her and allowed rehearsals only on Sundays.

Her mother wanted her to become a big star in cine field. May be, because of this Sharada started to learn dance in Madras when she was barely six. She used to perform during Dasara and other temple festivals. It was because of her mother's desire that she learned dance. Though Sharada's father was not too interested in the idea of his daughter becoming an actress, he didn't stop her either.

In Malayalam, she has acted in a number films with our old celebrities like Sathyan, Prem Nazir, Madhu, K.P. Ummar etc. It is to be mentioned here, though she is a telegu actress by birth, Sharada got National award for Best Actress for 3 times in Malayalam films. Some of her famous and super hit films are: Nadhi, Adimagakl(1969), Veendum Prabhatham(1973), Amruthavahini(1976), Murapennu (1965), Iruttinte Atmatvu (1966), Kannyadanam (1976) etc. with Prem Nazir. Thulabharam (1968), Kattukurangu (1968), Mooladhanam (1969), Yakshi(1968) etc. with Sathyan. Abhijathyam (1971), Swayamvaram (1972), Enippatikal(1973)and Orupidi Ari (1974) etc. She had acted with almost all the leading heros of 1970s, 80s and 90s. In a span of 40 years of film carrieer, Sharada acted approx. 120 films. Her carrier in Malayalam film started with Kattu Thulasi with Late Shri Sathyan in 1965 and her last Malayalam film RAPPAKAL in 2005 with the present superstar Shri Mamootti. In the span of around 40 years of film carrier in Malayalam only, Sharada acted with almost all the actors like, Sathyan, Prem Nazir, Madhu, Soman, Sukumaran, Jayan and Mamootti.
