Urumi made in English, Hindi and Tamil; Through Urumi santhosh sivan is introducing stars from Bollywood and Kollywood to Malayalam.

As the English title of the movie suggests Urumi is the Story of the Boy Who wanted to Kill Vasco Da Gama Urumi is also the history of Kolothunadu as well. Vasco Da Gama was a Portuguese Explorer who landed in the Shores of Kappad in the district of Kozhikkode during 1498, and Colonised the Entire South India. The Four Member Gnag including Prithvi Raj Genilia and Prabhudeva, is Major Characters of Urumi. Kelu nayanar (Prthviraj) , is the Leader of the Gang, Kelu nayanar was the Unsung Brave Patriot of Kolothunad who fought against the Colonisation and Imperialism of the Portuguese e , Genilia, Plays the character of Arakkal Ayisha lady love of Kelu Nayanar, (arakkal family is one and only Muslim Royal family in kerala,) and , Prbhu Deva, plays the character of Vavali who is a merchant from Nagapattanam . The gang is plotting against Vasco Da Gama; they plan to Assassinate Portuguese Explorer who colonized the County.
Chandan Roy Sanyal plays the character of the Evil Prince who is against Kelunayanar, he is cousin to the prince Kelu nayanar and he is trying to win over her the princess Ayesha who is the lady love of Kelu nayanar 
Amol gupte the Kamminey fame plays Uncle to Chandan Roy Sanyal , who are against each other. Ultimately Urumi is the story of love, revenge and Betrayal. The Climax scene of Urumi is the biggest ever made in the Malayalam movies according to Prithvi Raj the climax scene involves more than 150stuntsmen, over 100 horses, more than 1000 extras, multiple cameras and Explosives.
