The movie Swapnamalika's shooting has started very earlier. But superstar Mohanlal lost his interest in the screenplay in between the shooting and Director cum story writter K.B Devaraj, Suresh Babu and Mohanlal made have some changes in the scripts. Now The film is setting to release on coming 28th January to release. Now the film has completed its shooting in Haridwar, Varanasi and Kasi and being shot at Ottapalam to cover up the remaining portions.The film is produced by Mohandas Karimbil under the banner of Karimbil Films Story of Swapnamalika
In Swapnamalika Mohanlal as Dr. Appu Nair, an oncologist, who is travel back to India, the holy city of Varanasi to do the final rituals for his father. His father had passed away from U S. Isralian actress Elena plays the heroin role of Radha Karmel, an American woman who meets Dr. Appu Nair on the way to kasi to perform last rites of her husband.
Dr. Appu helps Radha to do the last rituals for her hasband and later he calls Radha in to his place in Kerala. She was happy to receive this invitation and eadily agrees to accompany him into Kerala. But the turning oints of film is happening, suddenly a bomb blast that occurs in the city separates them. Later Prof. Verma(Babu Namboothiri), a friend of Appu Nair, find Radha and they reach Kerala without Appu Nair. Appu's grandmother, and his relatives Meera(Vidya) and Kunjunni Amma all are giving a warm welcome for her. Through her they find console for the missing of their son. Then the Anti-terrorist squad comes to find for Dr. Appu Nair. Later Radha also misses. Directer K.B. Devaraj presents a suspenseful dramatic family entertainer which involves a thrilling climax.

Verma, while Vidya plays the relative of him.Elena, Isralian actress, is much astonished by Mohanlal by seeing his usual interesting activities in the sets without any head weight.
