Akkitham wins 23rd Moortidevi Award
Well known poet Akkitham Achuthan Nampoothiri has won the 23rd Moortidevi Award. He was given this award for his work Akkitham 'Achuthan Namppothiriyude Thiranjedutha Kavithakal'.
Akkitham Wins 23rd Moortidevi Award
Celebrated Malayalam poet Akkitham Achuthan Nampoothiri has won the 23rd Moortidevi award instituted by the Bharatiya Jnanpith Committee for his work Akkitham Achuthan Namppothiriyude Thiranjedutha Kavithakal. He will receive Rs 2 lakh in cash, a citation and a plaque of Saraswathi. The announcement was made by Raveendra Kaliya, jury member and director of the award committee. The award will be presented at a function to be held in February at Thiruvananthapuram.
The award was instituted in memory of Moorthidevi, the mother of Santhi Prasad Jain.
