The New year is quite good for Molly wood since the first movie of the year Traffic declared as super hit. Traffic is all the way a new experience for the Malayalam viewers and they accepted it. Now it is the turn for 'The Metro'. The Metro is the new movie directed by Bipin Prabhakar. Although the latest ventures(Khakee, One Way ticket) of the director did not receive good applause, Metro will definitely a good one. The Metro is also told in a way that a series of incidents converge at one point and end up as an intriguing thriller. The script of The Metro is done by production Designer Vysasan Edavanakkad. The story of The Metro takes place in Kochi. There are three separate incidents takes place in cochin. One involves the murder of an young politician Jaimy Padamadan during the Lok Sabha election time. The circle inspector Jacob Alexander(Sharath Kumar) is the investigator of this case. The C.I is after the local don Shaji Paruthikkadan.
The second story revolves around Anupama, an IT fellow played by Bhavana. A gang is following Anupama due to unknown reasons. Another gang of five friends arrived at Cochin. Actually they are travelling from thiruvilvamala to Pala for delivering a package to a friend. But due to some reasons, they are forced to stay in Cochin. All these sub plots makes the film to an interesting climax. Another high light of the film is that major parts of the film shots at night in Cochin.

Tamil Actor SharathKumar comes up as an independent hero for the first time in Malayalam. He was last seen in Oridathoru Postman and Pazhassiraja. In The Metro, He plays an honorable cop- C.I.Jacob Alexander. Bhavana is the heroine of the film playing Anupama. The five member Gang is leaded by harikrishnan, played by Nivin polley of Malarvadi Arts club fame, while Bhagath, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Arun and Beyonne plays the rest of the gang. Suresh Krishna, Nishanth Sagar, G K Pillai, Jagathy Sreekumar, Shammi Thilakan, Sadiq, Anil Murali and many other actors also acts in The Metro.
