Post paid plan is not much different from that of Pre paid but offers an extra benefit of Internet Usage. Tata Docomo provides free usage up 100MB /moth for 6 months; it is applicable to 3G users as well. Till 31st march the service won't take the Activation charge

Procedure of Mobile Number Portability for Tata Docomo

Type PORT" space Your Mobile Number and SMS to 1900. You will be charged the amount for a Local message vary from providers to providers
On receiving the Message you get an 8digit Alpha Numeric Code from your Service Provide, A Unique Porting Authorization Code(UPAC)
Within 15 day after receiving Unique Porting Authorization Code (UPAC) you have to port your Network. The code is valid for only 15 days
Welkin to your nearest service provider store, fill the mobile portability form (available in any service provider store)
Sign the Customer agreement form with your new Network Provider
Apply for Mobile Porting with ID proof proving your address and self attested copies of Your Recent Passport size photograph
You will be provided with a new SIM by the Network provider
You get the SIM activated in 7 days, for these 7 days the SIM will be inactive

NB: after porting if the number stay disconnected for 90 days the number will be reversed back to the original operator
