For Prepaid Customers
- The customer have to get their UPC code first. For getting that code just type SMS PORT (space) 10 digit mobile number to 1900 and get your code.
- After you get your UPC, you can just approach a Tata Docomo retailer with a photocopy of valid proof of address and proof of identity and a passport size photograph. Fill the subscription form with valid 8 digit UPC code. After your registration process, they will provide you a new Tata DOCOMO SIM.
- Then they will send you an SMS tells you the day when your number will be transferred
- Finally you have to insert your new Tata DOCOMO SIM on the mentioned day and can enjoy your network.
For Post Paid Customers
- The process is little easier for the post paid users, you have to get your UPC code first, the same procedure above can be repeated. Or you can give your details the DOCOMO website or simply call them at 1800-266-0000
- If you have done the above steps, one of the sales executive will approach you and get the formalities done for you.
- You have to give them your identity proof, passport size photo and the copy of your last month phone bill to your current mobile operator.

Telecom Rules of the Department before registering to MNP
1. You should have completed a period of 90 days (from the date of activation of your mobile connection) with your current operator.
2. You should have cleared all outstanding payments of your current Operator.
3. You should have no pending request for change of ownership of the mobile number.
4. Your mobile number sought to be ported should not be sub-judice i.e. under trial in a Court of Law.
5. Porting of your mobile number should not have been prohibited by a Court of Law.
6. There should be no ownership change request pending against the number you wish to port.
Documents needed for MNP request
1. Duly filled CAF form with UPC code details.
2. Copy of valid Address and Identity proof.
3. Copy of last bill paid to current service provider (in case of postpay customer).
