Science Olympiad 2010
Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) is an educational not-for-profit organization aiming at promoting Science, IT, Mathematics and English in India. They conduct competitive examinations in these areas every year. 13th NSO was held in 2010, the results of which are available at http://www.sofworld.org/.

Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) is an educational, non-profit organization aiming at promoting science, computer science, mathematics and English in India. Its slogan is "Let the apple fall, again." All activities of the foundation are aimed at making learning an interesting and interactive process. The learner is given an opportunity to put his skills, memory and knowledge to test. The foundation conducts seminars and workshops for students to sharpen their skills in the different areas of knowledge. The four competitions hosted by this organization, National Science Olympiad (NSO), the National Cyber Olympiad (NCO) International English Olympiad (IEO), the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) and the International Idiotics Olympiad (IOO), is very popular among students in the country. In addition to various centres in India, it is also holding its tests in Singapore, Oman, Qatar, Nepal, Bahrain, Sri Lanka, U.A.E. and Durban.
SOF awards inspirational prizes to students participating in the competitions. It also ranks the participants and a sends a detailed report to the participants. Following are the SOF competitions.

The National Cyber Olympiad or NCO looks for global Indian talents in IT and computers through various tests. They are:
• Mental Ability
• Logical & Analytical Reasoning in computers and IT
Top 500 students are selected on the basis of their performances in the exams. These 500 children will attend a second level examination, and based on the ranks, prizes are awarded. The 1st level of the 10th National Cyber Olympiad was conducted on September 1, 2010. The results were published on the net on October 25, 2010. The second level will be held between 5th and 7th February.

The National Science Olympiad or NSO is one of the prominent science competitions for students in India. Students from classes 2-12 are eligible for appearing in it. Participants should be represented through schools. Based on the performance in the preliminary round top 500 students and all school toppers from each standard are selected for the second round.

Top 500 participants are selected on the basis of their performance in the first test. There is also an award called the School Topper Medal, which is essentially a medal given to the topping student in each class of each school with minimum 10 participants in the concerned class. The 13th National Science Olympiad (first level) was conducted on November 19, 2010. The results were published on the net on January 22, 2010. The 13th NSO 2nd level will be held on February 20, 2011.

The International Mathematics Olympiad or IMO searches for mathematical geniuses in India and abroad. On the basis of the performance, detailed reports are sent to the schools to improve the level of math education in schools. Top 500 children are selected on the basis of their International Rank. These students appear for a Second Level Examination and according to these Second Level ranks, the prizes are given. The 1st level of the 4th International Mathematics Olympiad was conducted on December 2, 2010. The results will be published on the net in February, 2011.

Next IMO will be in Dec 2011International English Olympiad
The International English Olympiad or IEO is a unique kind of examination, and first in the history of English language testing in India. IEO is a joint venture of the Science Olympiad Foundation and The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad. Testing material for this examination is prepared by professionals at the All India English Language Testing Authority (AIELTA) and Foreign Languages University (EFLU).
The 1st IEO will be held on January 29, 2011.
