Movie Review: Kudumbasree Travels
Kudumbasree Travels is a new release to hit Kerala theatres. Kudumbasree Travels has Jayaram and Bhavana in the lead roles with Jagathy, KPAC Lalitha,Kalpana and Maniyan Pilla Raju cast in other key roles. Kudumbasree Travels is supposed to be a comedy, but it is very difficult to enjoy the comedy. Malayalam had seen many better movies in the past employing the same theme. Kudumbasree Travels fails to impress.
Kudumbasree Travels: Should One Board This Bus?

Kudumbasree Travels is directed by the new comer director Kiran. He has a mini screen background. Protagonist of the movie Jayaram (Aravindan) is a bus owner (Kudumbasree Travels), and belongs to a family of Chakyarkooth artistes. He is a resident of Chithirapuram village, which is a backward region lacking in modern amenities. He is set to marry Aswathi, a rich girl, played by Bhavana. He and his friends travel to the city in his bus Kudumbasree Travels for marriage. Jayaram has taken off his moustache to fit into the role of chakyar.
There is an opposing group hell bent on stopping the marriage at any cost. This group is led by his uncle Pachu and his friend Nittar. Pachu wants Aravindan to marry his daughter. We have two warring groups with opposing interests, and as expected they come to blows. Comedy is threaded into the theme with the antics of these two groups. But comedy fails to impress the audiences. KPAC Lalitha, Kalpana, Maniyan Pilla Raju, Janardhanan and Mamu Koya are also cast in other pivotal roles.
But the the entire movie turned out to be a damp squib. It is like old wine in new bottle. There were successful movies with similar themes like God Father, Chettan Bawa Aniyan Bawa and Peruvannapurathe Visheshangal.Performance
Jayaram and Bhavana performed well. Jagathy and Maniyan Pilla Raju also did justice to their roles. KPAC Lalitha and Kalpana have also contributed their best to the movie.
Bijibal's music is average.
Murali Raman's cinematography is impressive.
Those who plan to board this bus should think twice before buying their tickets.
