Public Sector Banks To Recruit 85,000 Personnel Over Next 3 Years
Public Sector Banks in India will be recruiting 85,000 employees over a period of next 3 years. This is based on the estimates of Government of India. Government is also planning a common selection exam for all public sector bank recruitments. It is reported that Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will be entrusted with the task.

There is a good news for job hunters, especially those who are planning to take up banking career. As per the estimates of Government of India, country is going to see 85,000 openings in the banking sector over the next 3 years. Finance Ministry also supports this view.
Public sector banking industry is witnessing large-scale recruitments in the last few years owing to retirement of incumbent employees and opening of new branches. As per the estimates of Central government, public sector banks will need 51,000 clerks and 34,000 officers over the period 2010-2013.
Recruitment Process
Government has decided to hold common recruitment test for vacancies in public sector banks. Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will be entrusted with the task of recruitment. This organization is already active in this area, and many public sector banks are presently availing the services of IBPS.
