Cochin Golf Club, Fort Kochi
Cochin Golf Club is located in the Bolghatty Palace Grounds on the Bolghatty Island in the Fort Kochi area of the state of Kerala in India. This golf course is bordered on the three sides by Vembanad Lake, the well known backwaters of Kerala.
About the Cochin Golf Club
The Cochin Golf Club was established in the year 1922 by the British for their exclusive use. The Golf course was laid out in the Bolghatty Palace grounds. The Bolghatty Palace was built by the Dutch in 1744 AD and is located on the Bolghatty Island just 5 minutes on the ferry from the mainland of Cochin. At present the Island is connected by a bridge from the mainland Cochin. Another important fact is that the golf course is bordered on the three sides, by the well known Tourist Destination Vembanad Lake.
In the year 1909 the Palace was leased by the British and it became the official residence of the governors and their staff. The Golf course was laid exclusively for their use. To get the membership at Cochin Golf Club
The Golf course at the Cochin Golf Club was opened to the public in the year 1922 with a compact 9 holes course with the present club house asd the registered office. There are about 450 members at present in the Golf Club and the membership can be classified into Ordinary, student, life , Instituitional and Honorary. The play at the Cochin Golf Club is restricted to the mornings except on Mondays. One can see more players in the weekend mornings that is Saturdays and Sundays, than on the other days. Ordinary Membership has an entrance fee of Rs 25000 and a monthly subscription of Rs 100. The Entrance fees should be paid along wiith the application and the monthly fees should be paid for an year in advance as well as a annual course fee of Rs 500 in advance.
Life membership - Rs 60000
Instituitional member - Rs 150000
Students - Rs 1000 payable annually till he / she is 21 years old.

For Visiting Golfers or the guests staying at Bolhatty Palace Hotel
No green-fee is charged from guests / residents of the Bolghatty Palace Hotel but the guest and residents of the Bolghatty Palace Hotel will have to pay the caddie fees and club-set hire charges as applicable to other non-member golfers / visitors.
For the non members or visitors
The green-fee for non-members is Rs. 100/- per round of 9 or 18 holes in one session.
The caddie fee for a round of 9 or 18 holes in one straight session is Rs. 75/-.
Golf club-sets are available for hire at the club-house @ Rs. 100/- per round / session.
Members may please note that they or their guest are charged Rs. 50/- towards club-set hireAbout the Tournaments and the trophies at the Cochin Golf Club
The Club has about 19 rolling trophies to be contested for including a Cochin Open. The Richardson cup and the cotton Tankard are some of the old trophies and are dated as far back as 1925.
