Kerala Engineering and Medical Entrance Examination 2011 new pattern and changes

Kerala engineering entrance examination will be conducted on April 18 and April 19. Physics and chemistry exam will be conducted on April 18 from 10 to 12:30 and mathematics will be conducted on April 19 from 10 to 12:30. Each paper contain 120 questions and in physics and chemistry paper 72 questions will be from physics and 48 from chemistry. Each question carries 4 marks with a total of 120 marks.
Only those students who got 10 marks in each paper will be included in the rank list. Procedure for preparing rank list will be in a new pattern in engineering entrance examination. The marks in the plus two examination will also be considered. Marks of physics, chemistry and mathematics are considered (including practical). There will be a 50 percentage weightage for plus two and rest 50 percentage for engineering entrance examination.
The marks of kerala higher secondary examination will be directly considered. Normalized marks will be considered for those students who have completed plus two in other syllabus. The rank list of engineering will be declared on June 25. Students have to submit a copy of mark list before May 31. There will be no entrance exam for architecture, but they have to submit the application before February 14. They have to write National council of architecture exam for admission.Exam pattern for medical entrance examination
The medical entrance will be conducted on April 20. Both papers will be conducted on the same day. Chemistry and physics will be conducted from 10 to 12:30 and biology will be conducted from 2 to 4:30. Chemistry and Physics exam contain 72 questions from chemistry and 48 questions from physics. The marks will be allotted as the same manner of engineering entrance examination. The preparing of rank list will be in the same manner of last years, that is only the marks of entrance examination is considered. In this year biotechnology will also be considered in place of biology. The candidates have to score 50 percentage marks in biology or biotechnology and 50 percentage marks in combined subjects of physics, chemistry and biology or biotechnology in their higher secondary examination.
