Reliance Group's Broadband Internet Services By The End Of The Year
Reliance Group's Infotel Broadband Ltd. will start services by the end of the year. Infotel Broadband Ltd holds license for all the telecom sectors across the country for operating broadband internet services. Reliance group will be entering the broadband internet services segment with the aquisition of Infotel Broadband Ltd.
Reliance' Broadband Internet Services By End Of The Year
Mukesh Ambani's Infotel Broadband Ltd, the Internet Service Provider set up by the Reliance Group, will start functioning from December this year. The company is now engaged in setting up infrastructure for the project, with bids invited for the equipments from international suppliers / manufacturers.
In the first stage, services will be made available in 700 cities. Reliance network is based on the Long Term Evolution (LTE) 4th generation technology, which can provide speed in the rage of 50 – 100 MB per second.
Company is planning to get on lease about 26,000 mobile towers for this purpose. Infotel has the license to operate wireless broadband service in all the 22 telecom circles across the country. Reliance has acquired 95% equity in Infotel at a cost of $1 bln. In addition to this, the company will also pay spectrum fees that would come about $2.7 bln.
