Toyota has launched low budget C Segament Sedan, Etios in Indian Market. The details of its Specification, performance and variants are given below
Etios – Low Budget Sedan from Toyota
After the successful launch of Toyota's low budget Fortuner in Indian market, the Toyota has come up with low budgeted C segment sedan, ETIOS in Indian Market. Toyota has now launched the petrol variant of Etios in India. They will launch the Diesel Variant by the mid of this year. Its hatch back version, Etios Liva will be launched in March. They have designed this model keeping in mind it's other competitors like Maruti Dzire, Tata Indigo and Honda City. Toyota is currently having a low share of the Indian car market and expecting a rise after the launch of Etios. The company told that they had engaged over 2000 engineers to give Etios small size without compromising on the eye-catching interior, power, performance and higher fuel economy.
The overall length of the sedan is 4265 mm, 1695 mm of width, 1510 mm of height and 170 mm ground clearance. Etios has a wheelbase 2550mm and sufficient luggage space of 595 litres.
Etios is equipped with 1.5 litre petrol engine which can produce 90PS of peak power at 5600 rpm. The engine generates maximum torque of 132 Nm at 3000 rpm. This clearly indicates that Toyota has not forgotten to equip with its performance even though the cost of the car is low. Performance
Toyota is loaded with new 1.5 litre petrol engine which can produce a maximum power of 90PS and maximum torque of 132 NM at 5600 rpm and 3000 rpm respectively. The engine displacement is 1496 cetimetre cube. It is equipped with 5 speed manual type transmission system. It is also equipped with a electronic throttle control which can increase the fuel efficiency of the car. It gives a mileage of 17.6 kmpl on highway and 12 kmpl in city. This makes it a fuel efficient car without compromising on the performance and luxury. The Toyota has launched 5 models of Etios in Indian market. They are Toyota Etios J, Toyota Etios G, Toyota Etios G safety, Toyota Etios V, Toyota Etios VX.
Toyota Etios J
This is the basic variant in Toyota Etios. It is priced Rs 4,96,000 Rupees (Ex-show room New Delhi). This comes up with body coloured Bumpers, Tubeless tyres, Full wheel cups, Cooled glove box, Comfortable Air conditioner with heater and clean air filter. But this model lacks Electric power steering.
Toyota Etios G
Toyota Etios G comes up with all features of Etios J and with some additional features. It comes up with body coloured door handles, body coloured ORVMB pillar black-out, Intermittent wiper, power windows, chrome garnish on boot, electric power steering and central locking. But safety features are not included in this variant. The Price of this Variant is RS 5,46,000.
Toyota Etios G Safety
This variant is similar to the above one. But some additional safety features are equipped to the above model at a price of 50,000 rupees more than the Etios G Variant. It includes SRS airbags, ABS with EBD (Antilock Brake System with Electronic Brake Distribution) and Driver Seat belt Warning.
Toyota Etios V
This variant comes up with Front Fog Lamps, Alloy Wheels, Rear Defogger, ROOF Mounted Antennae, Tachometer, USB & Aux-in Ready Audio and Chromed Air Vents.
Toyota Etios VX
Toyota Etios VX is the top end variant of Etios. This variant is equipped with Side Skirt, Audio Controls on Steering Wheel, Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel and Chrome Accented Shift Knob.Price of Toyota Etios
The prices given below are the ex-showroom price, New Delhi. The Base Variant is available at 4.96 lakhs and the top line is available at 6.68 lakhs. The price of Toyota Etios seems to be very competitive considering the fact that it is a Toyota and the build quality is top notch. But the less price doesn't mean that base variant will sell in huge numbers, buyers also want good looks and loads of features in a car of this segment. It is expected that the demand for "V" and "VX" variants will be more in comparison to the base variants.

The interior of the car is extremely different from the other cars. It has a centrally mounted instrument panel with offset AC vents. The Ac vents are round in shape. The three spoke steering wheel comes in dual tone along with the rest of the interior. The J and G variant come up with all black interiors while V variant comes with black and grey combination and VX variant with black and red combination. It has a double DIN music system and a 13 litre cooled glove box. The three spoke steering wheel comes in dual tone with integrated audio controls on it. Large bottle holders are provided on each door.
