Sreesanth Finally Makes to World Cup Squad

Sreesanth

Sreesanth made entry into the ICC World Cup Indian squad as Praveen Kumar was ruled out from the team due to an injured elbow. Praveen Kumar got injured during the South Africa ODI series. Praveen Kumar underwent a fitness test at National Cricket Academy at Bangalore and the medical report showed that he won't be fit by the time India play their first match in ICC against Bangladesh on February 19.

The replacement of Praveen Kumar by Sreesanth gave him a chance to be a part in the 15 member squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. R Vinay was the other player who was nominated for this position. But Indian Cricket team coach Gary Kirsten and Indian Cricket team coach Mahendra Singh Dhoni Preferred Sreesanth. So far, Sreesanth has played 51 ODIs and has taken 75 wickets. But his economy is not that much appreciable. His economy rate is 6.01. But his ability to swing the ball will be a great advantage to the Indian team. Sreesanth told that he is very happy to be a member of the squad and will use his best efforts to get the world cup.
