Kerala Budget 2011 was presented by Finance Minister Thomas Issac on Feb 11, 2011. I have included salient features of this budget in this post.Highlights
1. Sabarimala Development – Rs.100 cr.
2. Cable TV subscriptions to cost less
3. Pooja materials will cost less
4. Nylon plastic coir will cost less
5. Pooja materials sold in the neighborhood of places of worship will be tax free
6. Rs. 5 cr to KTDC hotels in Alappuzha and Kozhikode
7. Bala Sahitya Institute to receive Rs. 1 cr.
8. Family court in Irinjalkkuda
9. Two liquor testing labs will be established
10. KSFE branches will be set up in Metro cities.
11. Health insurance for pensioners.
12. Rs. 182 cr. for Kozhikode urban development
