Mamta said that the railway earnings to exceed Rs. 1 lakh crore in the coming years. She also mentioned that railway is going through some difficult phase during the last year. Kolkata will get 34 new Metro services by the new budget. The most important and people friendly decision taken by Railway minister is 10,000 shelters for homeless who live near rail tracks. Assistance for senior citizens at major stations will be enabled by a program named Rail Yatri Seva.
