Keraleeyan in and out of Kerala
This is about the attitude of Malayalees in Kerala and outside the state of Kerala.
Almost from every house in Kerala there will at lest be one member outside the state. They are quite competent in their fields. They toil & earn and help the family members back at home. Most of them take other employable members from family and relations, friends etc and get them also employed.
But most people in Kerala are a contrast in their behaviour to that of their counterparts outside Kerala. Here the persons will be mostly unhelpful to others and in many cases will try to put others in trouble if there is a chance. They will simply make all sorts of comments belittling or vilifying others as if they are full of virtues. It is not to offend the Good people as there are very good people in Kerala also.
Kerala is the land of the most educated, intelligent population. In fact it is known as the God's Own Country. As such we all Keralites should resolve to themselves and start a new chapter in their lives. We should resolve not to comment on others without verification of them. We will not misguide or cheat others. Whatever help we can give, we should do so to the deserving persons. To justify our enlightenment comparing to other parts of the country, we should set an example of ourselves.
In every society there good and bad people. Kerala people are of no exception. It is not fair to conclude that majority of Malayalees are not friendly within Kerala. Definitely, there are such unfriendly persons. But, if approached, majority are friendly and will extend a helping hand. They may not take initiative themselves, but they are ready to mingle with others. This opinion is based on personal experiences.
These days in most of the cities people stay closely. The local self Governments (Municipalities or Corporations)encourage the formation of 'Residents' Associations'. When initiatives are taken for such associations 99% of them join this and come forward with contributions (monthly contributions or annual) without any hesitation.
Such Residents' Associations take up common issues such as tarring the roads in that area or lighting the streets, or water related problems or waste related issues etc, with the Authorities and find solutions. Many members join in such common activities.
Occasional get together with entertainments or speeches etc. also attract many. In short co-operation comes forth if approached with an aim.
