1. What is the minimum age for enrolling in the voters list?
The minimum age for an NRI to enrolling in the voters list is 18 years as on January 1, 2011.

The application Form-6A can be submitted either directly or by post to the registration officer of the constituency concerned along with the relevant documents.

If the application is submitted directly to the registering authority, the application should be accompanied by a photocopy of the relevant pages of the passport.
7. What are the important formalities while filling the application ?
The photograph should be a recent one. The photo must have a light coloured background, preferably white, and should show the full face of the applicant.
8. What is the last date for submitting the application
According to the state's chief electoral officer Nalini Netto, all NRIs who want to cast their votes in the upcoming assembly elections will have to get their names enrolled in the state's voters list before the third week of March.
9. How can I know my name included in the Voters List?
The decision of the ERO will be communicated to the applicant by post on his address in the foreign country given by him in form 6A and also by SMS on the mobile number given by him in form 6A. You can chekc it also from the website of the Chief Electoral Officer of the State concerned ( For Kerala,www.ceo.kerala.gov.in) where it will be available in the PDF format or can be checked by typing the name.
10. From where I can obtain the Form 6A ?
Form 6A can be downloaded from the website of Election Commission of India www.ceo.kerala.gov.in. It is also available free of cost in Indian Missions in foreign countries and in the offices of EROs in India. 11. From where the postal address of the ERO can be obtained?
Postal addresses of all Electoral Registration Offices are available on the website of Election Commission of India www.ceo.kerala.gov.in. They can also be obtained from Indian Missions in Foreign countries.
12. Is it necessary to appear in Person?
It is not necessary to appear in person. If all necessary documents duly attested by an officer of the Indian Mission are enclosed with the application, the ERO will check it and can include the name in the Electoral Roll after the statutory notice period of seven days is over. However, if an applicant wishes to submit his application in person to the ERO, he can do so by submitting the original passport, which shall be returned to him after due verification and attestation of the documents by the ERO. In such cases, attestation of documents by an officer of the Indian Mission is not needed. If there s an objection to the claim of inclusion of name, the ERO may designate an officer from the Mission. The officer concerned to hear the parties will send a report to the ERO for final disposal.
13. Where is my name will included in the electoral roll?
Names of overseas electors are included in the relevant part of the electoral roll of the constituency where his place of residence in India as mentioned in his passport is located. Within that relevant part a separate section for Overseas Electors is created and names of overseas electors are kept in this section.
14. How can I correct if there are some mistakes found in the entries in the electoral roll ?
For correction of mistakes in Electoral Rolls, an application in Form-8 is to be submitted to the ERO concerned.
15. Can anybody object to the inclusion of names in electoral rolls?
Any person who is a voter in the concerned constituency may object to the inclusion of names in electoral roll, if the person whose names is included or is proposed to be included is not eligible to be registered as a voter in that constituency. An objection can be made in Form 7 to the concerned ERO along with the relevant proof.
16.What is the procedure if I change my current residential address in the country of his/her residence ?
You must be informed the ERO about the change in current residential address. It is the responsibility of the overseas elector to keep the ERO informed of the change in residential address in the country of his/her residence.
17.What about when I returns to India and becomes ordinarily resident in India?
In this case also, you must be informed the ERO. But, the person can then be registered as a general elector at the place where he is ordinarily resident in India.
