Zimbabwe had good opening partnership, but could carry on it thought the innings, first wicket fall at the score of 116 in the form of Chakabva, they ere batting well against the Sri Lankan Quickies, but When the slow bowlers got in to the act Zimbabwe lost their plot.
Muralitharan picking the first wicket, followed by Mathews slow ball to get rid of the well set BRM Taylor scripted the future of Zimbabwe innings; none of the Zimbabwean batters could stand the Sri Lankan slow bowlers they marched to the pavilion frequently. AG Cremer , RW Price tried it hard to bat theorught out the 50 overs, they were successful in successfully negating the sri Lankan bowlers, bu they were eventually all for 188 in 39 overs
Dilshan was the pic of the bowlers taking 4 wickets from his four overs, murali and Mathews took 3 and 2 wickets respectively.Earlier Dilashan and Thranga put on a record opening partnership of 282, both making centuries.
