The run rate then got down with Gautham Gambhir with Sachin. Sachin moved slowly to his 99th International Hundred and reached to it in a grand style.
Then it was the time that India has taken batting power play with Sachin and Gambhir on crease. It was all fine tell then. Then it saw wicket falling in regular interval. It was Sachin to go first giving a simple catch to J P Duminy with a well made 111 runs in just 101 balls. Gautham Gambhir also followed Sachin in the next over for 69 runs of 75 balls. Dhoni's decision to sent Yusuf Pathan high in the order once again didn't find any thing positive as Yusuf got out in the 2nd ball he faced. Yuvraj was also backed to the pavilion in the last bowl of batting power play. And India lost 4 big wickets during the power play time.Then the dfending effort of Dhoni found no effect and Team India just steeped down to 296 runs all out in just 48.4 overs.
Then it was South Africa's run chases lead by the captain Grame Smith as one of the opener along with Hashim Amla. The Innings from Hashim Amla was handy for South Africa with his odd 60 runs. Then Kallis also joined Amla and had a slow chase. But after the arrival of A B Devillers and J P Duminy, South Africa got some momentum and get back in to the game. Then harbhajan brought back India to the game by taking the wickets of A B Devillers and J P Duminy. Peterson alone fought for South Africa and its finally South Africa won the match for 3 wickets
