The Indian Navy invites applications from unmarried male candidates for Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Executive Branch (General Service/Hydro Cadre) for the Indian Navy January 2012 Course at Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala in Kerala. Short Service Commission is granted for a term of 10 years, extendable to 14 years, subject to service requirements and performance/willingness of the candidate. On completion of these tenures, officers are entitled for gratuity as per the existing rules.

1. Date Of Birth: between 19½ to 25 years, born between 02 Jan 1987 and 01 Jul 1992; both dates inclusive.
2. Basic Qualification:
* B.Sc (Physics and Maths): 60%
* M.Sc (Physics and Maths): 60%
* B.E.(Any Discipline): 60%
* B.Tech(Any Discipline): 60%
* B.Sc (Physics and Maths With NCC C certificate): 55%
* Graduate(Operational Research/ Analysis): 75%
* Graduate(Quantitation Methods): 75%
* Post Graduate(Operational Research/ Analysis): 75%
* Post Graduate(Quantitation Methods): 75%
* Graduate(Maths) with Probability or Statistics: 75%
* Post Graduate(Maths) with Probability or Statistics: 75 %
3. Physical Standards:
* Height and Weight: Minimum height - 157 cms with correlated weight.
* Eye Sight: The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision 6/12, 6/12 correctable to 6/6, 6/6 with glasses. Should not be colournight blind.

You will also see the links to view the full Advt. as well as links for manual submission of the form and for e-applications. Candidates can apply in any one format. Submission of applications in multiple formats will be rejected.
Selection Procedure for Indian Navy Recruitment for 2012 SSC batch
* Call letters will be issued to candidates based on their Degree course performance. Short listed candidates will be called for an interview at Bangalore/ Bhopal/Coimbatore during Jun to Nov 2011.
* The interview will be conducted in 2 Stages: (i) Stage I test will include intelligence test, Picture Perception and Discussion test will be conducted on the second day of arrival at SSB. Candidates who fail to qualify in Stage I will be routed back on the same day. (ii) Stage II tests will include Psychological testing, Group testing and Interview (this will be for a period of 4 days).
* Successful candidates will thereafter undergo Medical Examination (approx. duration 03-05 days) as laid down by the Government of India.
* Candidates who are declared medically fit will be appointed for training in Order of all India Merit depending on the number of vacancies.
* Training will likely commence in January 2012.
* Candidates will be inducted as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo Naval Orientation Course at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala followed by professional training at various Naval Training Establishments, Units or Ships.
Very Important Note: Only unmarried candidates are eligible to undergo training. Any candidate who is found to be married or marries while under training will be discharged and shall be liable to refund full pay & allowances drawn by him and expenditure incurred on him by the Government.
